About the event
The Lower Laguna Madre Young Birders Club aims to connect youth with nature through birding with a goal to build an environmentally conscious future while having lots of fun!
Coastal wetlands are where the greatest diversity of shorebirds can be seen!
Shorebirds are some of the earliest birds to migrate south in the fall, making the early fall season a perfect time to see a large number and diversity along our boardwalks. Their incredible long-distance migrations and unique feeding styles make them an interesting family of birds to study and enjoy!
Program will start with a 30-minute shorebird presentation followed by a 2-hour tour of our boardwalk.
We invite youth (9-15 years of age) to be part of the club and enjoy a morning of birding with us!
If you are already an official club member, please email Naturalist Javier Gonzalez at naturalist@spibirding.com, to be added to the registration roster. Thank you.
