About the event
South Padre Island is an incredibly important migratory stopover site for thousands of migratory birds and especially for trans-gulf migrants completing their 600-mile flight across the Gulf of Mexico coming from the Yucatan Peninsula as they head to northern breeding sites. These tired and hungry migratory birds rely on quality habitat to rest and find the energy they need to continue on their journey.
Join our Naturalist Educator for a guided tour of our boardwalk and gardens and learn about how the value of habitat on SPI, how we create and manage habitat at our center, and celebrate peak spring migration through South Padre Island!
Tour is limited to 15 participants and binoculars will be available to borrow.
Ticket includes admission to the park and tour fee.
